The resident portal: what your tenants see
Tenants get a branded portal: balance and payments, their lease, maintenance requests, documents, and live chat with your team. Accounts are created automatically through the apply flow.
Everything tenant-facing happens in the resident portal — branded with your logo and colors, so to your tenants it reads as your portal, not a third-party app.
What residents can do
- Home — property info, current balance, rent amount, lease dates, quick actions.
- Payments — the live ledger (same numbers you see), online payment by bank or card, and autopay enrollment.
- Lease — review and e-sign as an applicant; the executed lease afterward.
- Maintenance — submit requests with details, track status, cancel their own.
- Documents — the lease plus anything shared to them; they can upload back (insurance certificates, notices).
- Messages — a chat bubble on every page, IM-style with read receipts, landing in your admin Messages inbox in real time.
How tenants get access
Accounts create themselves through the apply flow — an applicant sets their password when applying and the same login becomes their resident account at move-in. For tenants who arrived by import or manual entry, an invite from their tenant page gets them in.
What residents can NOT see
The portal is scoped hard, at the database layer: a resident sees their own records only — never other tenants, never owner or company data, never staff screens. Applicants see even less (their application status and lease) until they become tenants.
Why to push portal adoption
Every portal-active tenant is fewer "what's my balance?" texts, rail-verified rent instead of manual entries, and maintenance requests that arrive structured instead of as voicemails.
